Every year, all of the second graders read the book Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown.
Written in 1964, Flat Stanley is a story about a boy, Stanley, who gets accidentally flattened by a falling bulletin board. Unhurt, but flattened, Stanley embarks on adventures in his new flattened state. On one of his adventures, his family mails him off in a large envelope to go on vacation and visit friends.
So.... that's what we do as well!

Oh My...
Slightly embarrassed at how long it's been since I've blogged. It seems that I just can't seem to make a regular habit of it with everything else that goes on. Is it too late to make it a New Year's resolution?

The City by the Bay, Part II
Day two begins with walking down Fillmore Street, which is full of fun little shops and restaurants. There's even a little movie theater.
We had a destination in mind, a delicious little bakery called La Boulange, which means "The Bread Bakery" in French.

The classroom is all cleaned up and ready to go for the upcoming summer renovation.* I think that the last time the room looked this bare was when I moved into Room 25 five years ago!

We Give Books? They do!

There are some really great, current titles in the online library, as well as some old favorites.
Some of the titles include...

Father's Day
I headed home with my sister to celebrate my dad this past Father's Day. It was just the usual shenanigans in my household. Lots of eating and enjoying each other's company!
Here's to my dad!
(The stuffed animal version. Really, this looks just like him. My dad LOVES hats and remote controls.)
