The City by the Bay, Part II

Day two begins with walking down Fillmore Street, which is full of fun little shops and restaurants. There's even a little movie theater.

We had a destination in mind, a delicious little bakery called La Boulange, which means "The Bread Bakery" in French.

We had a quick breakfast of coffee and pastries before walking around all of the little shops.

After a bit of shopping, we headed to Japantown to look around and have lunch. We went to a ramen restaurant where they use an old fashioned machine to make noodles. The machine looked really cool! I was disappointed that they weren't making noodles while we were there. The noodles were really delicious though!

In Japantown, I saw this really funny sign that I just had to take a picture of. The frowny face just cracked me up!

After walking quite a ways, it was decided that we needed some ice cream! That's the thing about San Francisco. You can reach so many different places, just by walking. We didn't drive the whole entire weekend! We did take one taxi though, at a time when we were really tired.
Smitten Ice Cream is such an awesome place that It is going to get its own blog post later on. If I start talking about it now, I'll never get to the rest of the weekend!

Just a few more sights around town:

Brighter Faster Wall Mural

Meat Truck!

Salumeria, which means palace that sells salumi in Italian. What's salumi? Salumi is different than salami!

The last stop of the evening was to Bi Rite Creamery for dessert, which meant more ice cream! At Bi Rite, they make ice cream the old fashioned way, with tons of flavors daily. They are pretty famous for their ice cream-- they even have their own ice cream cookbook!

I had a most fabulous birthday weekend.  Thanks to my sister for taking me out and about!
