Shark Week

Every year, the Discovery Channel dedicates an entire week of t.v. programming to sharks! This year, Shark Week begins on July 31st.  On the Discovery Channel website, there is an entire page devoted to Shark Week, which includes tons of facts, games, videos, pictures, and more!

The best part is the live webcam to the world's largest shark tank from the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, Georgia.

In this 6.3 million gallon tank, there live seven different kinds of sharks, blacktip reef sharks, sand tiger sharks,  sandbar sharks, whale sharks, zebra sharks, and the ones with the funniest names, the spotted wobbegong and the tasseled wobbegong.  Other fish and rays are also a part of this exhibit.  You can read the fact sheets about the different animals in the tank at the Ocean Voyager exhibit page.

Live broadcast by Ustream
If you have time, check out the other cool live webcams from the Georgia Aquarium webpage.  There is also an otter cam, a beluga cam, and a penguin cam!
