Happy Birthday...

Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. - Helen Keller

to Helen Keller!  131 years ago today, on June 27, 1880, Helen Keller was born in Tuscumbia, Alabama.  She is one of my personal heroes, because her strength and perseverance enabled her to achieve her goals.  Even though she was both blind and deaf, she didn't let anyone tell her what she could or could not do, and she amazed the world by what she accomplished and by helping others.

Read more at the Helen Keller Online Kids Museum from the Braille Bug website, where you can also learn more about Braille.
