Jacks? Joe?

I think that brunch has to be one of my favorite meals.  Not quite breakfast, not quite lunch, just a perfect in between!  Today, I went and had brunch at Jacks N Joe.  Is it owned by two guys named Jack and Joe?  Not at all!  Jacks is short for flapjacks, which is another term for pancakes.  Joe is a slang term for coffee.  Let's see what I had for brunch!

Of course, since it's called Jacks N Joe, I had to start off with a cup of joe!  Next came the jacks!

I had the Hula Girl, jacks with pineapple and coconut.

My friend had the Pudgie Elvis, jacks with bananas and peanut butter sauce.

The Pudgie Elvis is named after Elvis Presley, who was a famous singer and actor referred to as "The King of Rock and Roll," or more often, simply as "The King."  His favorite sandwich was a peanut butter and banana sandwich, so when this combination of foods is put together, it is often named afte him.

Vocabulary:
slang- informal usage of words in vocabulary or idioms
noun:  He used  much slang when he talked, that it was hard to understand him.  He told me that he wanted to go and get a cup of joe, so we had to hit the road.  I had no idea what he wanted!
